The above-captioned book by Marius Boirayon is an INTRIGUING book regarding alleged EXTANT giants still living on certain of the larger islands of the Solomons, including Guadalcanal.  The author, (having married into one of the local tribes,) recounts many incidents revolving around these giants (living in caves) and how they adversely affected the indigenous people over the last 200 years ago.

 

Because of the precious metals STILL on the islands, the local government is not encouraging tourism.

 

This is a story that needs an objective source to confirm.
