MY FAVORITE CHARACTER in ENGLISH LITERATURE

Page history last edited by Byron LeBeau 10 years, 9 months ago

HE WAS THE WORST OF GENTLEMEN...HE WAS THE BEST OF GENTLEMEN!

HE LOST HIMSELF IN DRINK...HE FOUND HIMSELF IN A WOMAN!

HE WAS DISAPPOINTED IN LOVE...HE WAS SAVED BY THAT SAME LOVE!

HE WAS THE JADED LAWYER - SYDNEY CARTON

HE SAVED THE WOMAN'S HUSBAND BY HIS LOOKS - CHARLES DARNEY...

IT WAS THE TALE OF TWO CITIES...IT WAS THE TALE OF TWO PEOPLE...

THE FIRST WAS LOST IN HIMSELF...THE SECOND WAS FOUND BY GIVING HIMSELF FOR ANOTHER...

What greater love can one have than to give his life for another!

NOTE: The best movie version I have seen of Charles Dickens' book, THE TALE OF TWO CITIES, was done in 1980 with Chris Sarandon playing the role of Sidney Carton, as well as his "look-alike" Charles Darney.
