There is a definite thread that runs through these apparitions (usually but not always to children) since at Guadalupe, Juan Diego was 57, and a recently baptized convert to boot!  Other approved apparitons include RUE DU BAC (Catherine LaBoure & the miraculous medal;) LaSalette (1846;) LOURDES (1858;) PONTMAIN ((1871;) KNOCK (Ireland 1879 and similar to Pontmain;) FATIMA (1917, Portugal;)   BEAUTRAING (1932-33-Belgium;)  & BANNEUX (1933 and also in Belgium.)

NOTES OF INTEREST: In Guadalupe, there was a definite miracle that occurred with the image of the Blessed Virgin being imprinted on a rough cactus fibre that resulted from Juan picking some rare out of season flowers (as instructed by THE LADY)  where the AZTEC Indian name for Guadalupe = "she who breaks, stamps or crushes the serpent (Cf. link.)

LOURDES revolved around OAUR LADY calling herself "THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION" which had been dogmatized by Pope Pius IX four years before the apparition (I.E. 1854.) In 1832, Catherine Laboure was taught the prayer by OUR LADY: "O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recouse to thee." {{Just like Bernadette Soubirous, Catherine's body did not corrupt upon death!}}

FATIMA contained a predicted miracle (other than THE MIRACLE OF THE SUN) and that was THE LADY'S prediction (in 1917) that a worse war would break out during the pontificate of POPE PIUS XI, but there was no PIUS XI in 1917, yet he was the pope during the beginning of WW II.

At BEAURAING, THE LADY confirmed that she was "THE IMMACULATE VIRGIN" as well as THE MOTHER OF GOD & THE QUEEN OF HEAVEN.  She also performed two cures there...while at BANNEUX, THE LADY was seen by witness Meriette Beco as being in white with a blue sash and transparent white vieil, as well as having a golden rose on her right foot and a golden rosary ~~ which is what Bernadette Soubirous saw THE LADY being adorned with at LOURDES!

In Belgium, THE LADY also gave herself another title: "I AM THE VIRGIN OF THE POOR" and the overall theme in most, if not all the apparitions: PRAY AND NEVER STOP PRAYING FOR SINNERS!

There are also other "non-approved" sightings that still bear close scrutiny, including THE WEEPING MADONNA OF SYRACISE SICILY (1953) which has never been shown to be a fraud!

On another web page, I mention "MEDJUGORJE CAVEAT" since this is not only not approved by the Catholic Church, but there seems to be evidence of Satanic mimicking in these series of sightings, so please be careful if you are inspired by Marian Apparitions.
