EDGAR CAYCE FALSE PROPHET

by Byron LeBeau

[SOURCE: REINCARNATION, EDGAR CAYCE & THE BIBLE, by Phillip J. Swihart, InterVarsity Press, Coumers Grove, Illinois 60515, 1975.]

I think it is incumbent upon me to be very frank with those who take the time to read my website. I deeply empathize with anyone who heretofore felt that reincarnation would be a vehicle for earning heaven but it is yet another bait or lure or trap by Satan himself to the unsuspecting who have not taken the time to carefully compare and contrast what Cayce had been told THROUGH HIS SPIRIT SOURCES to what the Bible clearly says.

Phillip Swihart is a self-confessed lay biblical Christian who had taken the time to write a masterful 55 page six chapter extended essay that concisely lays out the TRAP that was prepared for the unsuspecting Cayce - a trap which he fell into, thereby allowing himself to feel that reincarnation was a Christian path – when IT IS NOT!!! {{Cayce meanwhile has affected the thinking of many a NEW AGER (it seems to me) who may have been and still is ill-prepared to ward-off its seductive & poisonous message.}}

The book is a “MUST READ” for anyone who has swallowed the reincarnation arguments as being Biblical (when it is clearly ANTI-BIBLICAL, and you cannot serve two masters as Jesus said. You either believe that the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ redeemed ALL men, and is the only way that we could have been reconciled with the Father -------- OR YOU DO NOT!

Edgar Cayce was a false prophet since he was not 100% accurate which is the very sign of a false prophet, and the present author cites two instances of this inaccuracy on page 50 of his text; it is like being PREGNANT: either you are or you aren’t…but there is no middle ground and certainly God dealt harshly with those who tried to pass themselves off as true prophets when they were not. [The Book of Leviticus would serve as one example.]

There are many scriptural passages the author references that show just the opposite of what some very clever people have been using to twist the truth of the Bible. {{I myself had been blind to this for quite some time, and that is why I feel it is important for anyone ON THIS CUSP OF ERROR to take the time to read this book and pray on it!!! If we put our faith in what people say or some things that appear to be true without weighing it against the God-breathed Bible, then we are setting ourselves up for A BIG & DANGEROUS FALL!}}

In our own book, “THE ‘’CURS’’-ED NET,” we showed quite clearly how good Satan (Inc.) is at deceiving mankind via the deceptions of the Fallen Angels and the host of demons who parade themselves as ghosts, spirits, dead people and the “wise” counselors of those who use ouija boards. Cayce himself was so seduced by similar spirits who “know things” (as familiar spirits”) but whose knowledge is really being utilized to deceive their intended victims. {{People who become obsessed and eventually possessed fall victim to this same tricky delusion, where the demons know of and utilize our weakest spiritual link.}}

The scriptural arguments Swihart puts forth are exemplary, and will answer enough arguments about reincarnation to demonstrate the fallacy thereof and act as food for those who wish to search the scriptures as we all have been enjoined to do as noble Christians (CF. ACTS 17:11.)

FOR EXAMPLE, Swihart cites & explains verses such as 2COR. 5:21, ROM. 3:23, PS. 14:2-3, JOHN 14:6, EPH. 2:1 & 2:4-5. HEB. 9:27, LUKE 1:17, JOHN 9:2-3, ROMANS 9:11-14 (regarding Jacob & Esua,) JOHN 8:58, 1JOHN 5:1 (as to how to be of God,) & 2COR. 11:14-15 (regarding the deception of Satan’s angels & servants.) The author ends with the powerful thought-provoking verse found at 1TIM. 4:1.

Other topics discussed by Mr. Swihart include how Cayce got drawn in (chapter one,) distorting the God of the Old Testament (as if He were a mere tribal god,) the fallacy of “karma” as substituting for salvation, what is essentially necessary for salvation and how Cayce did not really understand this or simply chose not to believe it (chapter three,) the deficiency of thought of psychologist and author Gina Germinara, the wisdom of C.S. Lewis (with references regarding him and other influential Christian writers,) false masters, secret cults (like Gnosticism) and where Origin went wrong (chapter four,) plus a plea in the last chapter to avoid the “quagmire of reincarnation” to earn our salvation since it puffs man up at the exclusion of God’s redemptive act as being that which is all-important to rely on & cling to.

THIS LAST ITEM of earning things MAY BE “OK” FOR THIS WORLD – BUT NOT FOR THE NEXT!

To my surprise, this book was a good, short, concise understanding of the faith by a man of faith, and I had wished - upon completing it - that I had read it many years ago before I tip-toed into the “quagmire of reincarnation” until I almost became entirely stuck there!

REINCARNATION has the charm of the lemon tree: Seemingly very pretty on the outside – but its fruit is bitter…and if you are not careful, will lead to spiritual death.

I think you are simply trying to posit that REINCARNATION does not exist, and so I remind you all of Peter who warns of false teachers that Speak Evil of Things They Do Not Understand.

The Fallacy in this ARGUMENT you have provided now, is that Edgar Cayce is in ACTUAL AGREEMENT THAT REINCARNATION IS NOT THE CHRISTIAN PATH, but Reincarnation is a REALITY NONETHELESS.

What came to be the view & value of understanding our Life in the Series of Lives We have Led, is to extract a value of knowing our purpose from:
1. Who we are,
2. Where we have come from,
3. Where we may go to, better or worse,
& consequently WHAT OUR PURPOSE IN LIFE MAY BE, FROM THESE,

These questions are as essential as Knowing we cannot truly escape our Past from Youth, Childhood, nor should we want to.
